UWP ATTACKS THE MEDIA – AGAIN

Share on:

Over the past few weeks, we have seen an onslaught on the press by UWP and its surrogates. Some even allege that the local media is being paid to report the good news of the government. Have you ever heard more diatribes in your life? Is the media expected to publish the unsubstantiated claims of the Opposition and risk facing lawsuits? Are they supposed to print the anonymous clips of UnitedPac or the dribbling of the Pasta from St. Vincent who can find no kingdom in his own country?

In a not-so-surprising clash, Allen Chastanet came head to head with a reporter who just minutes before had been accused by Dominic Fedee of being a political operative. Spider in his usual drunken stupor also came on the attack, all of them evading the questions of the reporter on the declaration of war on citizens.

St. Lucians however are used to this behaviour. Whilst in government we witnessed attacks on journalists almost monthly by Allen and his cabinet. One would think that in Opposition they’d have eaten some humble pie by now but arrogance and disrespect reign supreme for the United Workers Party.
